Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS) have initiated the Stem Career Program for the science students. This program is started to groom the students for science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The interested candidates are asked to download the nomination form from the website of PIEAS or from the principal of their colleges.

The students are divided in to two categories and the students of matric or FSc (Part) who got total 70% marks or more in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics in the previous exams, fall in the ‘A’ category. The students of O-level or A-level (Part 1), who attained total 70% marks or more in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics, fall in ‘B’ category. The ‘A’ students will have to pay the application processing fee of Rs.500/- and the ‘B’ category students will have to deposit the application processing fee of Rs.1000/- in the online bank account # 00427991660803 of Habib Bank Limited. The candidates will have to submit their nomination forms till the last date of 26-1-2018 and the tentative list of the testing centers has been announced. The test centers will be Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Faisalabad, Hyderabad, Multan, Quetta and Gilgit. The candidates should fill in the admission forms in the capital letters and they should have to attach the documents like original receipt of application processing fee or postal orders and 2 passport size photographs.

The finally selected students will have to represent Pakistan in the international Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics Olympiads, which will be conducted during July 2019. The contest of the interested and talented candidates will be conducted under 15th National Science Talent Contest and the cash prizes will also be awarded to the students. The gold medal winners will get Rs.120,000, the silver medal winners will get Rs.80,000 and the bronze medal winners will get Rs.60,000. The honorable mention will get Rs.50,000 and the international participation will get Rs.20,000/-. The candidates should read the necessary instructions and also the eligibility criteria to attend the national contest and apply for the training.
