In a local hotel in Lahore, the 3 day exhibition for handmade carpets has started. The industrialists told that this industry has suffered most due to terrorism while commerce minister Punjab says that government is taking every possible measure to re establish this industry.
The minister said that this industry is very important as it not only provides jobs and revenue but Pakistani carpets act as ambassadors due to their individuality and quality.
Industrialists related with carpets said that the export of carpets has come to the lowest level of $120 million annually due to terrorism. They demanded support from government.
The participants told that foreigners are coming again after restoration of peace and they were hopeful that the industry of carpet will regain its lost place in few years.
