Out of total 763 received complaints, the most 569 were received through phone calls on toll free helpline number while emails and Facebook provided 100 and 94 complaints respectively.

Digital Rights Foundation launched the Cyber Harassment Helpline on 28th November 2016 and it started receiving calls from December 01, 2016. A lawyer, a psychologist and a digital security expert are part of the support team of the service. This helpline operates from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.

Total 703 calls were received by the helpline during the first 6 months out of which 134 were follow up calls while 569 were new cases. 82 calls per month was the average. January (159) and April (98) were the moths with maximum calls. Females were proved to be the main victims of cyber harassment as 63% of calls were received from them while 37% of calls were received from males.

After accessing individual complaints, it was seen that the major cases were related to fake profiles, information seeking, blackmailing, unwanted messages, using information without consent, hacking and threat. People were mostly harassed by using Facebook.

The helpline received most of the cases from Punjab (44%) and it was followed by Sindh (19%), Islamabad (8.7%), KPK (5%), Balochistan (1.6%) and AJK (0.6%). People that complained about cases were suffering from insecurity, depression, chronic stress, disturbed sleep, anxiety and others.

After successfully completing its goals in first six months of its launch, the service has decided to expand its helpline to rural areas of Pakistan as well. Digital Rights Foundation founded this helpline after realizing that National Response Centers for Cyber Crime (NR3C) lacks manpower and resources foe speedy investigation of rising cases of online harassment.
