According to critics, processing of visa applications will take lot of time as a result of these new rules. International students will come in fewer numbers after these rules.
On Wednesday, a State Department official told that additional information can be attained by officials if they think that national security demands confirming identity of a person.
During his campaign, President Donald Trump emphasized the need of strict visa policy in order to assure national security. Prior to that, US also became the first country to ban electronic devices for passengers of certain countries.
Immigration lawyers and advocates have the view that travel history of 15 years back will create problems for passengers. The mistakes made by passengers will increase with these rules that will result in cancelling of their application visas.
