Drones for Tree Plantation
New uses of drone come forward every day and the latest news is that drones can plant mangroves very quickly.
According to the British company Biocarbon Engineering (BCE), drones can plant mangroves 10 times faster and with half expenditure while this company is founded by former engineer of NASA. According to the company, six drones can sow more than 100,000 plants in a single day. BCE is working together with Worldview International Foundation (WIF) on the plan of planting large number of mangroves on Myanmar.
According to this plan, seeds will be prepared after training and inclusion of local people and the mangroves will be planted on the area of 250 hectares with support from drones. Myanmar’s delta remains under danger of cyclones and the ‘Nargis’ cyclone in 2008 killed thousands of people in this delta.
