FBR Filing Date Extended
Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has extended the last date to file the income tax returns / statements for the tax year 2019 till 02 August 2019. The government previously fixed the last date for filing of the tax returns as 30 June and the shortfall in revenue collection is prompted to one month extension. The circular was issued on Monday and this notice has mentioned the past three extensions, which the revenue board had permitted.
In exercise of powers conferred under section 214A of Income Tax Ordinance, 2001, FBR has extended the date for the filing of the income tax returns or statements for tax year 2018 in the cases of the people and AOPs, whose tax returns were due on 31 August and 30 September 2018, they extended upto 30 June 2019 and now it is further extended up to 02 August 2019.
