Windows 8 portables shorter than 10 inches are coming and there are many more in the pipeline.
One of these is Lenovo’s 8 inch Miix 2 tablet, which runs on Bay trail platform, the latest by Intel.

The Miix 2 is 8.35mm thick and 350g heavy, having an 8 inch display with resolution of 1280 x 800. It comes with Intel’s quad-core Bay Trail processor and 2GB RAM, under the hood. In the package, 2mp front and 5mp back cameras are included. For expanding the memory, a card slot can be used.

The tablet comes with MS Office Home and Student 2013 out-of-the-box and runs on full Windows 8.1.

Optional stylus and cover will cost $20. A top-of-the-line 128GB model is also there. Later this year, it will be available for sale.
