The internet might be fine when Wi-Fi settings might be the culprit. It is good to carry out the investigation of the problems before it is going to upgrade and you can find the problems easily. You need to have a smart phone for a dodgy Wi-Fi. You need to check some things for your internet activity with the use of your smart phone.

Ups and Downs

You need to check the download speed and upload the speed is good start and you can compare it with the ongoing download / upload rate and compare it with the speed, you want to get. It is easy to test your internet speed and you can do it with the use of speed test app on the smart phone. You can download the widely used and popular Ookla’s speed test for Android and iOS.

You can also measure the connectivity of Wi-Fi by running speed tests at the different distances from router and compare the numbers you achieved. If you run the speed test minimum 3 times in one room and 3 times in another room, which is located away from the router and you can compare the average to watch their performance at the different locations.

When the connection between phone and the router make you get the slow speeds, if the router is disable to perform at the reasonable distance and you might have the newer router or Wi-Fi booster device to get the desirable speed.

Analyze Keep it Simple

You need to use the WiFi analyzing apps, which is the good idea to get the detailed look of your router to check its performance. It is good option and helps you to get the detailed numerical figure in order to show the exact strength of WiFi signal, which your smart phone is receiving.

You can also use ‘eye’ icon on top in order to switch between different signal strength presentations and with the use of ‘Signal Meter’, you can get the connectivity.

WiFi Channels

You can also switch to singular WiFi channel to improve the connectivity. The modern routers and devices are provided with 2 channels like 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz. The router is added with two frequencies to improve the speed. There are different WiFi signals in the same area, which intersect the frequency of router and the channel switching process slows down the speed rather than increasing it. You can use the same WiFi analyzer app or counterpart by going to ‘Channel Graph’ and switch between 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz.

Access Router Settings

If you are Nayatel user, you need to get router settings by typing 192.168.100.1 in the smart phone web browser and log in use of your username and password. Default Nayatel user name is root and they set the password as admin. The IP address is different for various routers and you get the same router settings for PTCL and you will type 192.168.1.1 or the current IP address, if it is changed. The default username for PTCL router is admin and the password being admin.
