The government wants to take full advantage of the tourists visiting Attabad Lake in Hunza by setting up a resort there.
CM G-B Hafeezur Rehman told that on Thursday in Gilgit while talking to M Hussian, MD Northern Area Transport Corporation, and Abdul Ghafoor Khan, MD Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PMDC).
According to CM, Gilgit-Baltistan Development Working Party has approved this project and now it will be referred to federal govt. for its inclusion in the Federal Public Sector Development Program.
Attabad Village was located 14 kms upstream from Karimabad while the lake was formed here on 4th January 2010 due to a massive landslide.
Recently, the G-B govt. told that around 1 million tourists visited the site this year while their numbers were only 500,000 previous year.
