GM Releases Electric Car in China
When we talk about the all-electric vehicles (EVs), in Pakistan then nothing comes to mind to note it. The General Motors in China is going to release the new electric car which they called Baojun B100 and this is the small two seaters EV, which can run 155 km on single charge and it costs about Rs.563,000 or 35,800 Chinese Yuan. This car got so much popularity in China that over 5000 people registered from first 200 cars and about 500 cars were provided to the clients on the second day.
As the B100 is made available only in China and GM co-developed Baojun B100 with SAIC, which is one of the largest car makers in China.
Dimensions and Turning Radius
The electric car is made available in the market with 5.25 ft wheelbase and is 5.48 ft tall with the turning radius of 12.14 ft. the size of this car is perfect for navigating tight corners and the narrows and interior parts of the big cities like Rawalpindi, Lahore and Karachi.
Interior
When you check the interior of the vehicle, B100, it is featured with minimalistic cabin with 7 inch touch screen up front with Wi-Fi and infotainment capabilities. The airvents of the vehicle are integrated into dashboard and it is similar to Tesla Model 3.

This car is like the half size of the standard Suzuki Mehran and it does not mean that it compromises when you check its space. The cabin of the car is spacious for two people and it has sufficient boot space.

There is no e-brake or the handbrake and there is tiny handle to serve as e-brake on Baojun B100.
Performance and Range
Being an EV, B100 uses the electric motor and it is capable of producing 110 Nm of torque with 39 horsepower or 29 KW of power. The clients know that Toyota Prius and other hybrid cars, they cannot run their electric cars fast but B100 can manage to run up to 100 km / h on the highways.
When Baojun B100 is fully charged, it has the maximum range of 155 km and when you speak about EV charges up in 7.5 h hours through the regular wall socket. The suspension is added the independent front wheel suspension and single arm rear suspension on the back.
Safety Features
Safety features in this vehicle are added with ABS with electronic brake force distribution and the regenerative braking saves the power when the brakes are applied. It is added with ISOFIX locks for seatbelts for child safety, parking sensors and the pedestrian alert system.
