Govt Reduces Retails Price of Hepatitis C tablets

According to Minister of State for National Health Services, Saira Afzal Tarar, the new price of 28 tablets of Hepatitis C is Rs. 5686 as Govt. has reduced the price of these tablets by Rs. 26,000. Govt. is serious about those companies that have increased the prices of medicines.

The minister of state said that increasing prices is a violation of drug authority act by pharmaceutical companies. Govt. will initially talk and then take severe action against the pharmaceutical companies if they tried to blackmail the govt. by producing artificial decrease in the medicines.

Saira Tarar said that the price of Hepatitis C tablets have been reduced by the govt. and these tablets will reach the market within weeks. According to the director of Drug Regulatory Authority the Sindh High Court put decision in favor of the pharmaceutical companies because they put false information in front of the court.
