HP Announces Powerful Surface Rival in the Pro x2 612

+

A new and quite successful attempt has been made by HP to steal the ultimate Windows hybrid crown from the Surface Pro 3 through its new Pro x2 612. This package comes with an optional keyboard, a 12.5” display, a battery and also with several ports.

The display resolution goes up to Full HD while it starts at just 1366×768. Due to the presence of WACOM technology, the display also supports pen-input but in this process it became quite heavy and thick (about 4 pounds along with keyboard).

There is a slot for keeping it ready-for-use and safe but surely it won’t compete in this department with Surface Pro 3. Lots of processors are present under the hood including a Core i5 and an Intel Celeron or Pentium unit. From 64 to 512 GB is the storage set that is also expandable. The tablet also contains a microSIM card slot for 3G or 4G connectivity along with a USB 3.0 port and a microSD card.

The keyboard is also a major attraction in this tablet like in the Surface. The ‘Power Keyboard’ comes with number of ports including a VGA port, Ethernet, DisplayPort, a full-sized SD card reader and 2 USB 3.0 ports. The running time of the tablet is up to 14 hours due to its powerful battery. Apart from that, you can also get a backlit keyboard and a travel keyboard with USB 3.0 but these are without battery.

Either with Windows 7 or 8.1, this package will come. As the device is also for government usage and enterprise, therefore few additional security features and an optional finger-print scanner are also included.

The details about the price of Pro x2 612 isn’t known so far but it will be available in September this year.
