By the company’s president Xu Xin Quan, Huawei Ascend P6S with octa-core was supposedly confirmed two days ago. We got a new leak today and from the previous information, this one sharply contradicts.

From the China’s TENAA certification authority, the new details on the Huawei Ascend P6S come straight. This time around we get to see a glimpse of its specifications plus few live pictures of the device.

As its predecessor, the P6S looks exactly the same and it even weighs 120 grams but it is 0.3mm thicker, while the previous leaks had showed us the Ascend P6S is 7.6mm thick and actually weighs 166g.

The Ascend P6S will run on a completely new chipset manufactured on a 28nm process but will keep the same 4.7” IPS 720p display. The new SoC will halving the power consumption while allegedly boost the overall performance up to 80%.

With a 1.8GHz dual-core Cortex-A15 and 1.2GHz dual-core Cortex-A7 processors, it is based on the ARM big.LITTLE architecture. There is 2GB of RAM and the GPU in charge of graphics is Mali-T658. You’ll get 8MP rear and 5MP front camera.

Huawei is expected to update the P6 with KitKat in January but the test device of the Ascend P6S ran on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
