The International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) is going to announce the Red Cross Internship program for the period of 3 months with the monthly stipend of Rs.15,000/- per month. The internship program will be conducted from 01 August 2018 to 01 September 2018 and during the internship, they will be engaged in different assignments, which are related to different activities of ICRC delegation in Pakistan.
The internships will allow for the general understanding of ICRC, its mandates, activities and the international humanitarian law and it offers the opportunity for students to get the exposure to real work environment of ICRC.
Monthly Stipend:
- Recruited interns will be offered paid contract of 3-months with monthly stipend of PKR 15,000/ and these positions are based at ICRC office.
- ICRC will not provide any kind of boarding and lodging facility.

- 1st August 2018 (Islamabad)
Required Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates, who meet the following, mandatory requirements for Red Cross Internship Program:
- The students should be enrolled in the undergraduate or postgraduate degree in law and / or social sciences (international relations, communications, media relations, defence and diplomatic studies / peace & conflict studies and the similar disciplines in the recognized university / college located in Pakistan.
- The graduates must have finished their studies in one of the above mentioned disciplines not later than a year from the date of commencement of the internship.
- A good command of spoken and written English and Urdu.
- Available for minimum 3 months or more.
- Students from universities partnering with ICRC or have organized/attended any ICRC event such as Henry Dunant Moot Court Competition, Half/One Day IHL Seminar, and Two-Day IHL Certificate Course, etc., are only eligible to apply (Please find below list of universities, which are eligible for internship program).
Applications that do not fulfill above conditions will not be considered for Red Cross Internship Program. The successful candidates will meet the following criteria:
- A manifest interest for humanitarian action/issues and the ICRC.
- Ability to think strategically, to express ideas clearly, both orally and in writing and to work both independently and as part of a team.
- They have capacity for research and analytical writing.
- The candidates must have capacity for thinking out-of-the-box and for generating ideas and initiatives.
- Flexibility and ability to assist with a variety of tasks.

The students should provide letter of recommendation from Dean/Head of Department/Principal of the Law University/College/Institute of concerned university and they need to mention the year of participation of the respective university in the Henry Dunant Moot Court Competition or any other ICRC organized event.
- 2. The students will give the personal statement, maximum 400 words, on his/her motivation for an internship at the ICRC; and
- 3. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
