IESCO Starts Net Metering System Islamabad

The household consumers produce their own electricity and use it. They can also sell the extra electricity to the government. Islamabad electric supply company has started the net metering for the first time in the history of the country. A citizen of Rawalpindi became the first consumer to sell the extra electricity to IESCO through net metering.

According to the declaration of IESCO, the CEO has inaugurated the net metering system at the home of a citizen in Fazaia Colony, where the electricity produced through solar energy and the extra electricity from the excessive quantity of their household requirement, is sold to the IESCO. The head of IESCO said that through net metering, the consumers can share the production of electricity and their electricity bills will also be decreased.
