It’s really difficult to write that Amjad Sabri has died which is a loss for the whole nation and especially for the lovers of Sufi music. Famous qawwal and naat khwan Amjad Sabri was killed in Karachi on Wednesday noon.
A targeted gun attack took his life. Amjad Sabri was son of a world renowned qawwal Ghulam Fareed Sabri. Amjad’s fans, not only in Pakistan but also in the whole world, are morning over his tragic death. He is an exclusive qawwal who was also liked by youth for is beautiful Sufi music.
After his death, Sabri’s family refused for the post mortem of his body and the people who are sharing pictures and videos of dead body of Amjad Sabri should take some lesson from this step as these things are not acceptable either from religious or from humanitarian grounds. The government should take action against these pictures and videos and case against them should be registered for cyber crimes.
On 22nd June 2016, the great qawwal attended his last Sehri transmission on Samaa TV. While performing his kalaam, he almost wept but no one was aware that it will be his last performance. We are extremely saddened by his tragic death and pray for his forgiveness and condolence to his family.
