Lahore, In the profession of qawwali, men dominate and they sing the beautiful qawwali but for the first time, a female group appeared in this field. Manwa sisters group has started the singing the qawwali and their first qawwali was ‘Allah Janey’. This group is comprised of Saba, Zille Huma and Fauzia and it is belong to Faisalabad. As there are little chance to improve their talent, so they shifted to Lahore to enhance their activities in the family gathering, and private programs. They also started singing the songs of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Noor Jahan.

The Manwa sisters belong to a family having the similar background and their grandparents were associated with this profession. Rashid Faridi was their grant uncle and he was master in his profession so Dilip Kumar invited him many time to listen to his qawwalis. After the death of their grandparents, no one was interested to come in this field, so these girls have to come in this profession.

Making ends meet

They have done many stage and TV appearances and they sang the songs of Lollywood and also the folk and semi classical tunes. They started qawwali as it is natural for them to adopt as their ancestors sang the qawwalis and they earned their good name in this field. They are well aware of the new trends in music and they sing other light music and they will release these single songs in future.

They also mentioned that they are facing various challenges in leading qawwal party as they have to arrange the musicians and the big problem is the financial standpoint, which is still hazard for their hobby. They are working with their vocals at Alhamra to attend the training program. They also give the tuition to the students of the private schools so that they can enhance their earning. They have completed their graduation in Faisalabad and now they are living in Lahore and start tuition to meet their expenses.
