Microsoft Office Championship 2016 Pakistani Students Win Bronze

Waqas Ali is the Pakistani student and he belongs to Ghotki district. He won his second bronze medal during the competition of Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship 2016 (MOSCW). The student has the great expertise and skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint for Office 2013 with the prize money of $1500.

There is another intelligent student, Shahzaib Ishaq, who won the bronze medal and he won the prize money of $1000 for Office 2010. In this competition, total six Pakistani students appeared in this competition and remaining three students placed in the top 10 students in the Microsoft Olympics Competitive World.

About the Championship

This is the global competition of Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship, which tests the skills of the students in Microsoft office Word, PowerPoint and Excel (2010 or 2013). The administration of the competition invited only top students to represent their countries at World Championship. The participants work hard to make good preparation so that they can compete in the Championship.

The students across the country made their preparation to appear in the competition of Microsoft Office Specialist Certification and the top 118 students were selected for the national championship. The national event was conducted in Islamabad in June this year and the top six students were included in the international Pakistani team and competed at the Microsoft Office Specialist world championship in Orlando, Florida and this competition was conducted from 7th August to 10 August.

Shahzaib Ishaq, winner of the event, said that the students wore the white and green shalwar kameez during the event. He further added that he read three or four books on Microsoft Word and also used two different software programs to get the training for the championship.

From the success of this show, it is evident that there is great talent, which is hidden in the country and our educational institutes and the government should take steps to promote it and introduce it to the world. 6 of the Pakistani students are included in the top 10 ranking for the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship.
