Two flowers from the coldest and far flung areas of Antarctica have been discovered and their molecules can be used for the preparation of world’s best sunblock.
Experts from Chile have seen such molecules in these two flowers which not only protect these flowers from heat of sun but they can also be used to protect delicate skin by making human sunblock.
The experts of University of Santiago studied Pearlwort and Hair Grass flowers in controlled environment during which they found that these flowers continue their growth by tolerating against dangerous UV rays of sun.
According to the experts, the scientists have discovered several such molecules in these flowers in which the colobanthus act as solar filters and stops harmful rays of sun. This research is done by Gustavo Zuniga and now he is considering preparation of different products through a commercial company.
Apart from that, genes of these flowers can be included in various crops to protect them from harms of sun. These molecules of flowers can be used to prepare makeup products also.
