The celebration of mother day was begun in America during 20th century. Most of the countries adopted the cultures and trends of America in their own customs and tradition, so these countries also adopted this tradition to celebrate mother day to show love and affection with their mothers on any special day. But these countries celebrate this festive day on different dates with different names. In USA and UK, this day is celebrated with the title of Mothering Sunday and in the Greece, this day is celebrated with the title of Orthodox celebration.

Some of the countries celebrate this day according to their historical significance. Bolivia is celebrated this mother day on such day on which most of their women took part in the battle so they commemorate mother day on that day.
