Muslim Engineers Prepared Camera Without Lens

California, The team of Iranian fame Muslim scientists of California Institute of Technology (CALTEC) have prepared the first thinnest camera of the world and it is important to note that this camera is prepared without lens.

The research journal, ‘Optical Society of America Technical Digest’ (OSA Technical Digest) has published the research report and according to this report, the digital camera is free from lens and the thinnest optical phased array (OPA) technology is used in this camera. The tiny circuit uses very small space and it also works in the similar way, which the lens of other cameras works with it. They concentrate the light at a particular place and in particular way so that they can get the reflection.

This camera is prepared by the research engineers like Raza Fatimi and Behroz Abrezi under the supervision of Professor Ali Haji Mairi of CALTEC. The most important thing is that the focus of the farthest thing can be obtained in the billion part of a second or femitive second. This is the quality, which is not existed in any other camera of the world with such speed.

Professor Ali Haji Mairi said that the necessity of the lens is not required in this camera and it can be shortened so that it is not possible for any other camera. When this technology will be strong and it will reach to the business measure then it is hoped that these cameras will be prepared at the minimum expenses. From the medical department to the war field, then the vast field of application of ‘OPA’ camera technology camera.

It will not be wrong to say that the invention of CCD (Charged coupled device) in 1980 laid the foundation of the most advanced digital cameras of today and the ‘OPA’ camera technology without lens will bring new revolution in the digital shooting.
