Islamabad, Nawaz Sharif has been elected Prime Minister of Pakistan for third time with two third majorities. Nawaz Sharif got 244 votes and the opponents, Makhdoom Amin Faheem of PPP got 42 votes and Makhdoom Javed Hashmi got 31 votes.
The newly elected prime minister will take the oath of his office today evening in the President House, Islamabad and president of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari will take the oath from him.

The session of National Assembly started with the recitation of the Holy Quran and speaker of the assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq presided over the session. In the beginning, the speaker informed the members of the National Assembly about election of Prime Minister. Then the proceeding for the election of the Prime Minister is started. Speaker has ordered for ringing the bells for five minutes. After that, the entrance gates of the National Assembly were closed.
