New Electricity Connections Online in 2017 for Lahore

Lahore Electric Supply Company is going to initiate the new online application system for industrial and domestic power connections. The CEO of LESCO made this announcement when he was talking with Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and the senior LCCI members were also present on this occasion.

The CEO made the promise with the users that the department will solve their problems, which they are facing and the power theft, corruption and breakdown of the electricity were the big issues and the department will solve them.

The LESCO has started the new online registration system with the general consumers and it will be provided to the users in about 191 subdivisions. The department also took the initiative to improve the line losses and they will start recovery. The CEO promised to bring the line losses down to the single digit. He also mentioned that the current line losses in Lahore are about 14%.

Lahore’s Load Shedding Ending in 2017

The department started the mobile meter reading practices and the line losses were decreased. The department will purchase 700,000 new meters and about 180,000 faulty meters will be replaced with the new meters in Lahore city.

He also mentioned that the saving of electricity is easy and more convenient than generating the electricity. It is said that saving of 1 MW of electricity is better than generating the same amount with the use of money. The department is going to end the load shedding in Lahore in 2017. When about 10,000 MW electricity will be inducted in the system, the load shedding free era would be started by the end of 2017.

Industry Demands Lower Tariffs, Appreciates Efforts by LESCO

The president of LCCI, Abdul Basit claimed that the situation of electricity was better than ever before and the industries in Lahore were getting interrupted power supply and the requested for the tariff to be brought down at the more affordable level.

The president of LCCI accused that the line losses and power theft was the biggest causes of energy crisis and it should be brought down to the minimum and it is hopefully said in single digit numbers. The department did not share further details about the online connection registration system.
