Very soon, the new Islamabad Airport will be launched. It is expected that 14th August 2017 is the operational date of this one of the biggest airport of Pakistan. A video about the new airport went viral few months ago and now we have several new pictures of the New Islamabad International Airport.
According to the government, the airport would be 95% completed at the end of March and the pictures show that this time it is happening according to the announcement. Before that, the launch date of the airport has been delayed several times.
According to reports, new airport will serve 4,500 people at a time while it will be prominent airport in the country due to its ability to harbor two Airbus A-380 planes and having 15 aircraft parking bays. The air experience of people will improve with the presence of modern facilities of security, cargo management and passenger facilitation.
People of the whole region can easily access the airport metro bus, linked motorways and GT Road.
Some time ago, the long delays and fault in designs were the reason for fame of the new airport. It was expected that the airport will land and take off two planes simultaneously but airways were constructed closer than desired due to engineering error. This exceeded the project cost by Rs. 100 billion.
