New World Record to Produce Electricity with Ocean Wind Turbine

+

Denmark, the world’s largest wind turbine is installed in the ocean and this turbine has set the new world record by producing the electricity with air for consecutive 24 hours. This turbine has produced 9 megawatt electricity in just one day and it has left behind all other wind turbines of the world.

The Department of Wind Energy of Denmark has prepared this wind turbine, ‘V164’ and it is declared the world’s largest wind turbine and it is improved more and it has worked for consecutive 24 hours to produce more electricity. This turbine can produce electricity up to 4 to 6 megawatt daily and now new developments have been made in it and it attained the capability to produce 9 megawatt electricity. This electricity can meet the electricity requirements o about 7200 houses.

The trials of the newly amended design of this turbine are being carried out in the open sea few kilometers away from the city, Osterild, of Denmark. After its successful completion, more turbines will be prepared and they will be installed in other places in the sea to produce more electricity.

The turbine ‘V164’ has the height of 722 feet and the width of the turbines (fans) is 538 feet, which is more than any other turbine of the world. It started working in2014 and the government of Denmark started working to make it better in 2016, which is completed last month. Under this project, instead of increasing its size, the attention is given on its efficiency. Now this turbine is able to set the world record of producing 9 megawatt electricity.
