Microsoft has now launched the Lumia 638 in India after six months of its launch in China. The budget 4G smartphone can only be purchased from the just launched Microsoft store on Amazon India while its price is INR 8299 ($ 130). It will start shipping on 18th December 2014 and now it is available for pre-booking.

During the launch of the device, Director Marketing Nokia India Raghuvesh Sarup said that this low price device will allow the customers to enjoy uninterrupted video content and it’s launch is due to the success of other Lumia devices. With Lumia Cyan, the device runs Windows Phone 8.1 while it sports a 4.4” LCD ClearBlack display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection and includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400SoC. It also packs 8GB built-in storage expandable up to 128GB via microSD card, 1830 mAh battery and 1GB
RAM.
The smartphone has no front-facing camera but includes a 5MP rear autofocus camera. It also supports Cat 4 LTE/4G with 3, 7, 38, 39, 40 and 41 bands.

There is also an exclusive offer on Airtel 4G by the Redmond, a Washington-based company. The postpaid customers in Bangaluru of the carrier will get 5B of 4G data for 2 months after activation of Airtel connection on their device. This offer will exist till 31st March 2015.
