Islamabad, The 4G technology is already introduced in Pakistan and various mobile phone operating companies are using the 4G network and now Pakistan is going to introduce the 5G technology within the country and the trial period is going to be started within the country.
One mobile phone company has applied to the PTA for the provision of 5G spectrum and this company is going to start the trial of this spectrum very soon. It is known that PTA has granted the approval to the applicant company for the use of 5G spectrum on the trial basis.
In the 5G technology, 5 gigahertz is used and it is expected that the data can be transmitted with the speed of one gigabit or more, which is unexpected speed. After passing through the trial period, this technology will be introduced across the world on the vast ground and the preparations are made for the introduction of this technology.
The information Technology minister said during a conference in Islamabad that they are going to introduce this technology in 2020. The conference, ‘Asia Pacific Regulators Round table 2016’ was arranged by PTA with the collaboration of International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and she was addressing the opening ceremony of the conference. She further added that one mobile phone operating company has contacted with them for the grant of approval to use 5G spectrum and she refused to tell the name of the mobile phone operating company.
