Pakistani-Canadian Carl Rodrigues decided 16 years ago to develop a computer product after quitting his job which terrorized his whole family. But now, the worth of this company is $1 billion. He told that his decision was not accepted by any member of his family but lack of any practical idea was the biggest hurdle in his later.

His aim was to do best about his favorite thing and he later decided after a long and tiresome finding that the best idea is to develop a software system through which users can control their mobile phones through their laptops.

For the first 12 months, the sales remained slow but then he received a call from a UK based supermarket group that was willing to incorporate the system in their operations in order to make it easier for their staff to communicate and information and data.

He made them to believe that are talking to a firm instead of a single person present in basement by presenting himself as different staff members with different voice tones. He remained successful and got order of 20,000 units for his first big deal. He progressed continuously and $80 million per year is the revenue of his company now.

At the age of 11, Rodrigues migrated from Pakistan with his family in search of better education and living while he belongs to Roman Catholic Christianity. He attended University of Toronto after completing his school education and took a degree in computer science and mathematics.

For few years after completing his graduation, Carl worked as a consultant in a company and later started work for his own company in 2001. Currently, this company has 17,000 customers worldwide and more than 700 employees in 22 countries.

Rodrigues received several huge offers for company including a one from Microsoft in 2006 but he decided to remain owner of his company in which 100% shares are retained by him and his wife. This company has now shifted from basement to two buildings in Mississauga. In order to improve his firm, Rodrigues is now trying to hire talented computer programmers.
