Pakistan Post has launched the new delivery service, which is called ‘Same day Delivery’ in order to provide the speedy transportation of the consignments in the 24 selected areas of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Thursday.

The Minister of Postal Services, Maulana Syed Ameer Zaman Bukhari will start the new service and the Post Master General, Arshad Ali Khan told media about the launching ceremony of this unique and speedy service. He also said that this speedy service was being launched under the instructions of the Prime Minister so that they can make this department profit earning and vibrant entity.

Details of Same Day Delivery Service

The people can use this service and it is excellent for the business community. They will dispatch and receive the goods through this facility and the up to the weight of 20 kilograms. The items will be dispatched at the shortest possible time on the day of their bookings. The users will note the charges o 500 gram weight consignment for Rs.150 with the additional charges of Rs.50 against each 500 grams in the similar parcel. He also said that the clients would be informed through the SMS about the status of their parcels, mail and the gifts, which they will send to their dear ones.

Availability of Service

The Post Master General said that special desks were being established for the service at the 24 designated branches of Pakistan post and it will be added with the motorbikes for the speedy and timely service for the provision of parcels and mail in short possible time. He explained the service that the booking will be available for three hours from 08:30 am t0 11:30 am and the consignments would be processed for speedy delivery.

He further added that the delivery will be provided as the pilot project at the different designated post offices of Islamabad like

  • Post office situated at Prime Minister office,

  • Commercial Market Centre, Satellite Town

The Post Master General said that after watching the response of the public, the service will be extended to other cities.
