A Chinese model of self driving hover taxi has been tested by official in Dubai and now transportation of people through these drones can start in July this year.

On Monday, it was told by the Dubai Roads & Transportation Authority that the planned flights of passenger-carrying drones will start in July through which people can move around biggest city of UAE and the work is in progress for this purpose.

For this drone service, Dubai will use Chinese-made EHang 184 which is an egg shaped drone with 4 legs while two small propellers are used to attach them.

The destination can be selected on a touch screen by passengers after which the drone will automatically start its flight towards the said destination.

The battery life of EHang 184 drone is 30 minutes while it can take weight of up to 220 pounds to cover 30 miles.

In 2016, Ehang co-founder George Yan told while speaking to media after unveiling 184 in Las Vegas that sitting in this drone is 10 times more amazing and comfortable than sitting in Ferrari.

Yan added that most appropriate route will be selected for you that will be calculated in order to provide safety from the other flying drones. In case of failure of a system, another will take command due to the availability of modern backup system in the drones.

According to head of Dubai’s Roads and Transportation Authority, Mattar al-Tayer, they have tested the flight of this vehicle in the skies of UAE while the drone was controlled through 4G mobile internet while it was examined by Dubai Civil Aviation Authority. The preparations show that the authorities are ready to introduce this service in July this year.
