Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi visited Federal Board of Revenue and he checked the working and performance of FBR. The top 50 taxmen were addressed in FBR headquarters at Islamabad. He asked the officials as what effective strategy has been designed and used to get the target of the revenue collection for the current fiscal year.

Currently, there are 1.2 million people, who filed their tax return. FBR has increased 5000 to 10,000 new people in the tax net and there are over 8.5 million people, who can be brought in tax net. He ordered the officials of FBR to track the individuals, who are involved in the various transactions including utility services, banking, buying and selling activities through the use of CNIC. They can seek cooperation from NADRA and also get help from technology and notices can be issued to these people. It is convenient to track the people, who purchase new cars and houses but they are still invisible on tax rolls.
