Punjab Government Finishes MCAT & ECAT Entry Test from 2015

Lahore, Punjab Government is pondering over the need of the entry tests like ECAT & MCAT, which are designed to grant admissions to the students in the medical and engineering colleges and universities. The students, who want to get admission in the engineering colleges or universities, they have to pass the ECAT and the students, who want to get admission in the medical colleges or universities, they have to pass the MCAT entry test. The students have to work double as firstly, they work hard to pass the annual exams and secondly they work hard to pass the entry test. Many times the intelligent and eligible students get fewer marks and do not get admission with narrow miss in their entry test. The government of Punjab is considering over the abolishment of the entry tests like MCAT and ECAT for grant of admission in the engineering and medical colleges and universities.

The reorganization committee studied the need of the entry test and they have given their recommendations to continue taking entry test or not for grant of admission in the medical and engineering colleges and universities. They have sent the recommendations to the Chief Minister of the province and he will give the final verdict to continue the entry tests or stop the tests. In the reorganization committee, the councils of the Higher Education Commission, VC University of Engineering and Technology and VC University of Health Sciences and the head of the Punjab Board Committee of Chairmen participated. The final verdict will be announced for the MCAT and ECAT tests in short time.
