Punjab government is going to introduce the customized school app in order to promote health and hygiene among the school children.

Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmeen Rashid has made this announcement while talking to media outside the Punjab Assembly. According to the details, this app will be launched in 12 selected schools and in the first phase, 6 girls and 6 boys schools will be screened and the students will undergo the different medical tests including eyes, ear, nose, throat, teeth and skin. The education department and Policy and Strategic Planning Unit (PSPU) will make the collaboration to develop the app. Punjab Govt School Children Health App.

The provincial health minister told the media that the students will be appreciated to participate in the games and various other physical activities so that they can enhance their immunity. She also said that the establishment of the facility centers for malnourished kids, which will help to get the different health targets.

The questions about availability of this app to children are arisen that most of them may not have the access to the smart phones. It is pertinent to mention here that health minister announced the pilot healthcare program for government school students. The Punjab government has selected 12 schools among them 6 for boys and for girls. there will be a doctor and a nurse for each school and the facility of medical tests will also be provided to the students.

It is also decided that no medical test will be carried out without the permission of the parents and the health department shall sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with social education department so that they can lay the ground work for the launch of the program.
