Rainfall Expected in Pakistan at Weekend

According to a forecast by Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), heavy rains are expected in Karachi and few parts of Balochistan from Saturday to Tuesday as Sindh and Balochistan will see the emergence of the 2nd system of Monsoon.

This 2nd spell of monsoon will enter from Monday in Punjab, KPK and Kashmir but these areas are also expected to receive rainfall from Saturday to Tuesday. But most of the rainfall in these areas is expected on Sunday and Wednesday.

More than 22 people have died in rain related accidents in the past 2 days in different parts of Pakistan due to unexpected rainfall. According to MET office, few regions of Balochistan will see heavy thunderstorm that can cause urban flooding in few parts of the province.

According to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), water level in Tarbela Dam has risen to 1490 feet (max level 1550 feet) while the water level in Mangla Dam is 1211 feet (max 1242 feet).
