Samsung has announced its annual release of J series as Samsung J5 and J7 (2017) have been issued by the company while there is an improvement in design of both as compared to last year.
The Galaxy J5 (2017) will be available at the end of June 2017 with price of 280 euro (Rs. 33,000) while the Galaxy J7 (2017) will come in the market in July at the price of 340 euro (Rs. 40,000). But the prices could be slightly higher in Pakistan as compared to the European markets.
Design & Display
Both J5 and J7 have same design while having curved antenna lines on the back and the S7 like design on the front. In contrast to most Samsung phones with horizontal arrangements, you will get a vertical layout with the back camera/ flash layout.
There is a Super AMOLED display in both the J5 and J7. The J5 is slightly smaller with 5.2” 720p display while the screen of J7 is 5.5” 1080p resolution.
The main difference between the two devices is the absence of IP 53 splash resistant which is present in the J7 model. There is a fingerprint scanner in both J5 and J7 phones.
Internals and Storage
Exynos 780 octa is the chipset in both the devices. The J5 and J7 have 2 GB and 3 GB RAM respectively. Both have the same internal storage of 16 GB. You can expand the storage with microSD card slot.
For these two smartphones, the default OS version is Android nougat along with custom UI of Samsung.
Cameras and Battery
Both the J5 and J7 have the same 13 MP primary cameras with LED flash. But there is a difference in front cameras as the J7 has the same 13 MP front camera with LED flash as compared to 5 MP shooter of the J5.
As compared to previous year, the battery of the J7 model has been upgraded but the battery of J5 has strangely been downgraded. The Galaxy J7 has now 3600 mAh battery after its increase from previously 3300 mAh battery while J5 had 3100 mAh battery in 2016 which has been reduced to 3000 mAh now.
