Saudi King Salman has banned jobs for foreigners in unnecessary departments through an order. According to a Saudi newspaper, it was decided during a cabinet meeting in Saudi capital Riyadh the salaries of ministers will be reduced by 20% and members of Shura Council by 15%. There will be 15% reduction in the car and home allowances of members of Shura Council.

Under a monarchial order, the additional financial benefits for government servants are also taken back while the King has prohibited providing car to senior govt. servants for next one year. The ministers are allowed to use mobile and telephones of 1000 Saudi riyal. They will pay the extra bill themselves.

King Salman told that these orders will not be implemented on military personnel present on southern borders and people busy in intelligence operations in foreign countries. It was decided in the cabinet meeting that annual increment in pays will not be made in year 1438 AH while the salaries will also not be increased on the start and extension of contract.

Ministers and government officers of same rank will be given 36 annual leaves instead of previous 42 leaves while govt. servants will not be provided monthly transport allowance during annual vacations. All the vacancies in govt. departments and plans will be closed till the end of next year. In other govt. offices, extra workers will be sent to places where there is immediate requirement for workers.

The reason for this decision is the falling oil prices in International market because the kingdom is facing severe deficiency in the revenue from export of oil due to which this decision is made to save from budget deficit.
