Shanghai Government Scholarship 2019-20

The Shanghai Government Scholarship 2019 for the bachelors, masters and PhD programs are provided to the students and the applications are invited from the desired candidates. The government of Shanghai has opened the door for full scholarship in China to invite the students across the world to get education and get undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD degrees on full scholarship.

It is the great opportunity for the students to complete their education in Shanghai and the non-Chinese students can get the scholarship in multiple disciplines. The Shanghai scholarships are offered to the candidates in wide range of fields like Law, Economics, Science, Medicine, Management, Education, Economics, Agriculture, History, Engineering, Literature and Art.

Shanghai government offers two types of scholarships. The type A scholarships is considered as the full scholarship and it is comprised of tuition fee, residence in campus, comprehensive medical insurance and monthly living expenses. Type B (partial scholarship). The complete details are given below:

Financial Coverage in Shanghai Scholarship

As mentioned above, Shanghai Government is offering two types of Scholarships. Type A (Full Scholarship) & Type B (Partial scholarship)

Type A (Full Scholarship)

Exempt From Full Tuition fee.

Accommodation on campus

Provide comprehensive medical insurance

Monthly Living Expense:

Doctoral program: CNY3500

Graduate program: CNY3000

Undergraduate program: CNY2500

Type B (Partial Scholarship)

Exempt from tuition fee and it provides comprehensive medical insurance.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be given by non-Chinese citizens and they should be in good health.

Applicants for pre-college program must have high school diploma and be under 23.

Applicants for bachelor degree program must have high school diploma and be under 25.

Applicants for master degree program must have attained Bachelor degree and be under 35.

Applicants for doctoral degree program must have master degree and his age should be under 40.

Additional application documents required by the school

Photocopy of health certificate and blood test. Bring your original documents at the time arriving at China.

Photocopy of passport, including all Chinese visa pages.

Certificates of the award in your high school (not mandatory).

Applicants under 18 must provide a Guardian’s Letter of Guarantee. You can download samples from ECNU undergraduate program website.

Application fee: 800 RMB (paid online).

Bachelor or higher diploma (notarized photocopy):

Academic transcripts (notarized photocopy)

A study or research plan. It must be in Chinese or in English and not less than 800 words.

Valid HSK certificate:

English-taught program: TOEFL ≥ 80IELTS ≥ 6, or other English language certificates.

Two recommendation letters by professors or associate professors, written in Chinese/English.

Photocopy of health certificate and blood test. Bring your original documents when come to China.

Photocopy of passport, including all Chinese visa pages.

Abstract of bachelor thesis (non-essential)

Application fee: 800 RMB (paid online).

For Doctoral

Bachelor and master graduation certificate and diploma (notarized photocopy):

Academic transcripts (notarized photocopy)

A study or research plan. It must be in Chinese or in English language and it should not  be less than 800 words.

Valid HSK certificate:

English-taught program: TOEFL ≥ 80IELTS ≥ 6, or other English language certificates.

Two recommendation letters by professors or associate professors, written in Chinese/English. Follow the reference letter sample.

Photocopy of Health certificate and blood test. Bring your original documents, when you come to China.

Photocopy of passport, including all the Chinese visa pages.

Abstract of master thesis and other published papers or research products during the master program. No need to provide your full master thesis but only the abstract.

Application fee: 800 RMB (paid online).
