Smart card to replace car book in Sindh

Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawla says that smart cards will be introduced in place of registration book of cars. The smart card will not only facilitate the car owners but it will also be easier to record their computerized data. He said that while addressing a meeting in his office.

He said that introduction of smart card will end fake book registration as the cars running on fake registration book are huge security risk. He added that office of excise department will be established at Toyota Show Room, Khalid bin Waleed Road and showroom of Honda/ Suzuki where related staff will be appointed. This process will reduce the pressure of registration of cars. The minister said that inspection and physical attestation of the cars will also be made on these centers.

The purpose of these actions is to provide facilities to people. He said that it is very important in current situation to preserve the data of cars and their owners and reduce the possibilities of terrorism.
