Availability

The Urdu language on Google is available in cloud speech API and new languages are available in Gboard, Google translate and it can be used by enabling Voice Search features only.

Machine Learning

The languages were incorporated with the use of machine learning after feeding them through the sample taking from local speakers. The ability and the accuracy to understand different languages has been improved manifold. The machines were trained with the use of specific sounds and words from the native language.

The languages are added with ancient languages like Gregorian, vastly spoken African languages and variety of other languages. The Indian languages are also included in large numbers and they show the interest of Google in one of the most densely populated regions.
