The price of per unit of WagonR VXR has increased to Rs. 103,000 and now 1.009 million rupee is the new price of this car. The new price of Mehran VX is Rs. 65,000 after increase of Rs. 20,000 in its price.
In this calendar year, Suzuki has increased the prices of all of its cars and brands for the second time. In April 2016, the prices of Suzuki motorbikes increased by Rs. 5000 and various of its cars brands up to Rs. 15000.
In Pakistan, the most famous brands for cars of 8000, 1000 and 1300 CC is Pak Suzuki. According to statistics of Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA), most numbers of cars in the financial year of 2015-16 have been sold by Suzuki. In this year, 96,893 was the number of cars sold by the company while Mehran remained at the top with 37,223 units.
Punjab Taxi Scheme of provincial government was an important reason for this benefit of the company through which it gained much profit during the last two years.
In 2016, the profit of the company reduced to 41% in the last six months after the end of the taxi scheme. The profit of first half of 2015 was Rs. 2.42 billion while its current profit is Rs. 1.42 billion.
According to analysts of automobile industry, the value of Yen has increased as compared to local currency which is the reason behind rise of this price increase. Due to this factor, the cost for assembling components increased which resulted in decrease in profit.
