Once again, Sheikh Rasheed has made headlines but this time it was not due to his comments but the hide and seek he played with police and entered the area of ‘Committee Chowk’ in a heroic way. Earlier that day, the chairman of Awami Muslim League (AML) claimed that he will not obey the 144 article and will reach at committee chowk at the given time.
Containers Set Around Laal Haveli
The Rawalpindi Police had already sealed his house ‘Lal Haveli’ with containers in order to arrest him and prevent any gathering but even then Sheikh Rasheed managed to keep himself away from police and also arrived at committee chowk which proved that he knows every street of the city. Earlier, he had announced to reach committee chowk at 4 pm to address his supporters and he arrived there at the given time but there were very few people in the chowk at that time because they were prevented by police.
Sheikh Rasheed Arrived on a Bike
Sheikh Rasheed is a member of national assembly and he sided with Imran Khan against the alleged corruption of the ruling party. The drama was created while he ran towards committee chowk by taking different routes on the foot, on bike and in the taxi and filmed by camera while he just managed to reach committee chowk on bike. After arriving there, he climbed to a van, lit a cigar and challenged the government to arrest him. He addressed media groups especially ‘Geo News’ to present the true situation to the people as more than 450 people have been arrested without any allegation and even women and children were harassed.
