Usage of rotten Eggs for Biscuits preparations in Pakistan

According to a report, the egg processing plant of a biscuit powder factory was recently raided by a team from Punjab Food Authority (PFA) while the factory is located near Manga Mandi area in Lahore. During this raid, the team found around 1 million eggs of total worth of Rs. 15 million.

The team was headed by DG PFA Noor ul Amin Mengal while the raid on the processing unit was conducted after the information received by the vigilance cell of the authority.

According to the reports, this plant is the only egg processing unit in the whole country which provides egg powder to all major biscuit brand and snack companies in the country. The powder is made after separating yolks and whites of eggs. According to DG PFA, they recovered total 1.1 million eggs of Rs. 15 million worth from the factory. He added that even chicks were hatched from few eggs.

It is important to note that this factory has also been raided and sealed few days ago but later it was reopened illegally and started to functionally as usual. Now, the factory has been sealed once again and the case will soon be filed against its owners.
