Western Digital is included in the largest manufacturers of hard disk drives of the world and this company has launched the first ever portable SSD and it is small enough and you can place it in your pocket. Hard Disk technology was introduced many years before and it was one of the old storage methods to carry the data and it is still in use. There are many other storage devices like floppy disks having magnetic tape and it went out of the use. The Solid-State Drives are taken over as next big contender and most of the modern laptops are added with SSDs instead of using traditional HDDS.

The company, Western Digital has made the shift from HDD to SSD and they have revealed the first ever SATA SSD drive for the past year PCs and now they have revealed the first every passport size SSD.

Now this pocket able, My Passport SSD is provided in the market in 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB configuration and it costs for $100, $200 and $400 respectively. It is prepared to work with USB-C and it is provided in the market with USB-A adaptor in the box. This device is also provided with 256 bit hardware encryption and it is tough enough to survive drop from the height of 6.5 ft and it is added with 515 MS sequential read speed.
