Private jets are available at various sizes but at quite higher prices. Nowadays, a new class of private jets called ‘Very Light Jets’ are getting famous among the elites around the world.
These jets are also expensive but few manufacturers managed to lower prices of their planes. Recently, we know about the cheapest private jet ever.
The new entry in the market is by the new Cirrus Vision. It is the cheapest private jet in the world today with the price tag of $1.96 million. The second cheapest jet today is around double the price of this jet. The first flight of the jet was taken in May 2016.
Now, the company has increased the production and delivery of the jet after getting certification from Federal Aviation Administration. The targets of the Cirrus Vision are regional commercial air services and private owners.
The biggest competitors of this jet in the very-light-jet market are Embrace Phenom 100 and the HondaJet. The Cirrus Vision is different from its predecessors that it features a v-tail rudder for starters while most airplanes use the regular one. It is also the first such jet that is available with single engine.
This plane can fly at the maximum speed of 555 kmh while its maximum altitude is 28,000 feet. The takeoff distance of the jet is just 0.62 km.
The maximum range of the jet is 1850 km at maximum speed (555 kmh) while it can attain 2220 km at 444 kmh.
A single piece carbon fiber fuselage is used for assembling of the Cirrus Vision Jet.
The height and width of the passenger cabin is 4.1 feet and 5.1 feet respectively. Including pilot and co-pilot, total 5 adults and 2 children can be accommodated in the plane.
In every seat, there is a USB charging port, mood lightening and an in-flight entertainment system. There are large windows in the jet along with a panoramic windshield in the cockpit.
There are touch screen displays in the cockpit while most of the flight controls are automated due to Garmin’s Perspective Touch avionics.
There is an envelope protection system in the jet through which the pilot can’t put the plane in any dangerous situation. Even a single pilot can operate this jet also. A parachute system is also included by Cirrus for this jet.
So far, Cirrus has acquired 600 orders for this jet while the company will built only 40 of these jets this year. From next year, more than 100 jets will be produced per year by the company.
