Yesterday, Zong commercially launched its 3G services in Pakistan. At Zong’s headquarter in Islamabad, a launch ceremony was held in which Chairman PTA Dr. Ismail Shah, other members of PTA and Zong’s top management was present.
Zong’s 3G services are now available in Lahore and Karachi with this commercial launch. Within next couple of weeks, Zong’s 3G services will be available in Islamabad.

According to the received information, Zong will offer its customers daily, weekly and monthly 3G packages. The details are given below.
Zong 3G Packages:
One can get a maximum 4GB data limit in a month and it is priced at Rs. 650/month.
Add-ons for 3G Packages
For 3G packages, Zong is offering add-ons. Add-ons basically allow customers to use additional data within time duration of a package. E.g. if you’re on a 150MB limit weekly package and even before the expiry of package you’re close to end your limit, then to continue using 3G services, you can select any of the add-ons.
Along with the data package that you’ve already selected, the add-ons will expire.
Out of Bundle Charges:
Following will be the charge of 3G services if you haven’t added any add-ons to your services and you’re out of bundle.
- Re. 1 per MB
- Along with the expiration of basic bundle that you were subscribed to , this charging rate will expire.
Default 3G Package:
When there’s no package selected then the default 3G package or default 3G charges for Zong’s services are Rs. 10/MB.
Free Social Package
For limited time, Zong is offering free social package. Customers can use unlimited facebook, twitter and what’s app for free with this package. Its details are:
- Package Name: Social Pack (unlimited facebook, twitter & what’s app)
- Charges: free
- Volume: unlimited
- Activation Mode: SMS ‘Social’ to 6464
- Validity: 3 days.

- What is add-on?
Add-ons can be purchased to keep enjoying 3G experience as they’re small volume increments.
- What is out of Bundle rate?
The user will be charged on out of bundle rate of Re. 1/MB instead of default rate of Rs. 10/MB if he/she does not purchase an add-on after reaching volume cap of his data bundle.
- Will Zong cap speeds after consumption of 3G bundles?
The user’s mobile internet speed will be decreased to 2G speeds after reaching volume cap of a bundle in order to prevent him consuming too much data at 3G speeds.
- How many times a bundle can be re-subscribed?
All packages can be re-subscribed several times after reaching volume cap.
- When will the default package be charged?
Default rate of Rs. 10/MB will be charged if a user has not subscribed to any bundle.
