Federal Government is going to start hiring process for the establishment of initial design of project of Karachi Information Technology (IT) Park. Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) states that Federal Govt starts Karachi IT Park Hiring Process. In order to complete this project, the file work has been carried out and the government will call the Expression of Interest (EoI) from the interested companies for the short design in a short while.
The Federal Government will shortlist the companies through their EoI and request for proposal will be started after the technical and financial evaluation of the companies. The govt will award the contract after finishing of the process. The contract awarding company will be hired for the detailed design of IT Park within eight to nine months time.
The government has chosen the location of Jinnah International Airport in trade and business hub of the metropolis for the establishment of the IT Park and the total cost involved in construction of this project is Rs.31 billion. The government of South Korea has shown their willingness to finance this IT Park Project. MoITT also made it clear that it is expected that South Korea will provide 85% of the funding and also provide the technical support to this project.
Karachi IT Park will be included with 210 IT Companies and they will recruit 8400 employees and the project will have multi-story building, which will be spread over 106,449 square meters. This IT building will have eight floors above the ground and three basement floors to house all these companies and the offices, conference rooms, day care centers, amenities and parking will be added in this building.
