CASIO has issued happy news to the industrial designers. The prototyping of the clothes is lot easier than before and you will need not to spend many hours to find the right material and get the details right manually. They can find the new and latest 3D printing Casio and it is available in the market with the new 2.5D printer. CAETEC Casio demoed their new Mofrel technology. The prototype seems similar to the real fabric and its design and it is added with small details of embroidery. Fabrics are the things, which can be printed with the printer and even with mimic hard material like stone, wood and ceramic.
What Makes the Technology Exciting?
This 3D printer has the capability to add the texture to the ordinary looking sheet and the sheets are thicker than the normal paper. The printer gives final touches to masterpiece with the use of its 16 million color inkjet. The paper used in this printer is provided for $10 in A4 size. A3 sheets are provided for the printer and the price of the printer is not known at this time. The price of the paper seems costly but the analysis showed that it is cheaper than cost of prototype, which is made with the use of real material.

The sheet can take the shape of material and texture and the process is lot quicker and efficient and it takes 3 to 5 minutes to print the single side of the sheet and the sheet can be printed on both sides.

The secret of the new and latest printer shows that the sheets are used and Casio is calling these sheets the ‘Digital sheets’. These sheets have the layer of micro powder, which is made from compound and it expands, when it is heated and it also takes the shape of the needed texture to cool it down.

To mimic texture to perfection, pattern of required texture is first printed on sheet with carbon and the carbon allows the heat to be focused on required area. The layer is printed and carbon is peeled off and the colors are added by inkjet.

The price of the printer is $44,400 and it will be available as B2B solution by next year. There are some of the automobile companies, which got the access to this printer and it is rumored that the consumer version is now developed.
