FBR Imposed Rs 250 Tax on Mobile SIMS

The Federal Board of Revenue has imposed a tax of RS 250 on the sale of SIM after reducing the tax on the import of cell phone. According to FBR a tax of Rs250 sales tax shall be imposed on the sale of SIM or on the activation of SIM. All the cellular companies will have to pay the accumulated tax to the FBR. The tax imposed on the import of cell phones has been reduced. Now a tax of 150 to be imposed on low priced mobile, 250 rupee on medium priced whereas a tax of Rs 500 on expensive mobile phones. A tax of 500-1000 was imposed on expensive mobiles in the month of April.
