Free Wi-Fi in Punjab At Different Locations

Few years earlier, Punjab Government and Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) decided to set up the free Wi-Fi service all over Punjab. The government declared this project many times during these two years.

Initially, this project was announced for big cities liker Lahore, Rawalpindi and Multan and they made plan to expand this project to other cities. They started to rollout the process to provide free internet access at the big public places.

PITB has launched the list of the places of these big cities, in which the free Wi-Fi services will be provided to the viewers. Now the government has announced to start the free Wi-Fi service in the leading cities like , Lahore, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Gujar Khan and Murree. There are different landmarks, where Wi-Fi service is provided freely.

Lahore:

  • Across most Metro bus stations
  • Allama Iqbal International Airport
  • Greater Iqbal Park
  • Anarkali
  • City Bus Station
  • Gaddafi Stadium
  • Lahore Zoo
  • Jalo Park
  • Model Town Park
  • Linear Park
  • Jilani Park
  • Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park
  • National Bank Park
  • Lahore Zoo Safari
  • And several colleges, universities, government offices, markets and hospitals

Rawalpindi:

  • Across most metro bus stations
  • Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium
  • Municipal Football Stadium
  • Benazir Bhutto Hospital
  • Raja Bazar
  • DHQ
  • Railway Station
  • Saddar
  • Liaquat Bagh
  • Rawalpindi Medical College
  • Fatima Jinnah Women University
  • And a few parks and hospitals

Islamabad:

  • Across some metro bus stations

Multan:

  • Across most metro bus stations
  • Jinnah Park
  • Gulshan Market
  • Qila Qasim Bagh
  • Shah Shams Park
  • Hussain Aghi Bazar
  • Nishtar Hospital
  • Darbar Hazrat Baha-uddin Zakariya
  • And some courts, markets, government offices, parks and historical landmarks.

Murree

  • Mall Road

The viewers can get the complete list of the area, where free Wi-Fi service is provided to the clients. PITB also launched the app for the android devices to provide the alert when they get free Wi-Fi access point near their location.
