Higher Education Commission will send as many as 2000 Pakistani scholars to best foreign universities during next five years to carry out the doctoral studies under the supervision of HEC.
The Central Development Working Party has accorded the approval of the amount of Rs.20.904 billion for Phase-III of Overseas Scholarship program. It is told to media that Phase III of the scholarship program envisages the PhD level training to 2000 talented candidates throughout the country on open merit in the selected areas. Under this program, 200 scholarships will be awarded to the students of MS and MPhil in engineering technology like the fields of Civil Engineering Technology, Mechanical engineering technology, electrical engineering technology, chemical, electronics, textile and so on to meet their requirements of the already set up and newly proposed technical universities.
It has been decided that about 400 scholarships will be awarded to the research scholars every year for next coming 5 years to these students. These scholars will be sent to these countries, which have developed technological universities.
